The assistant council commissioner is responsible directly to the council commissioner for each unit—Cub Scout pack, Boy Scout troop, or Venturing crew—in his assigned area, to be visited by a unit commissioner and receive commissioner service every month.The purpose of these visits is for the unit commissioner to assist the unit leaders in their all-important goal of successfully delivering a quality Scouting program. This is the core purpose of the councils’ commissioners staff.The assistant council commissioner keeps the council commissioner informed of the assigned area's units’ conditions and successes, and any problems in delivering the Scouting program.The assistant council commissioner is responsible for insuring that all assigned unit commissioners, district commissioners and assistant district commissioners are offered and receive all current training required for their position, that all necessary commissioner positions are filled, and to see that all commissioners receive timely recognition as applicable.

Service Area Chairman – Serves as the Service Area’s top volunteer. He supports the district chairs within the Service Area. Helps to secure support for Scouting from top community leaders throughout the Service Area. Serves as a member of the council executive board. Helps conduct District Committee Training as needed.

Council V.P. - District Operations – Supports the district chairs within the Council. Helps to secure support for Scouting from top community leaders throughout the Council. Serves as a member of the council executive board. Helps conduct District Committee Training as needed.

Southern Region - Area 6 Camping Chairman is responsible for coordinating with 10 BSA councils in soliciting several experienced volunteer scouters from each council to insure that each camping program in the 3-state area are inspected in a timely manner, early in the camping season. Chairman is responsible for providing a 1-day, National Camp School certified training for all said volunteers, insuring that all camp programs are inspected, and constant follow-up during the camping season to insure that all are completed successfully.
