Assistant Council Commissioner - Western Service Area
CurrentThe assistant council commissioner is responsible directly to the council commissioner for each unit—Cub Scout pack, Boy Scout troop, or Venturing crew—in his assigned area, to be visited by a unit commissioner and receive commissioner service every month.The purpose of these visits is for the unit commissioner to assist the unit leaders in their all-important goal of successfully delivering a quality Scouting program. This is the core purpose of the councils’ commissioners staff.The assistant council commissioner keeps the council commissioner informed of the assigned area's units’ conditions and successes, and any problems in delivering the Scouting program.The assistant council commissioner is responsible for insuring that all assigned unit commissioners, district commissioners and assistant district commissioners are offered and receive all current training required for their position, that all necessary commissioner positions are filled, and to see that all commissioners receive timely recognition as applicable.
