Having worn many hats during my tenure, including leading its individual fundraising efforts though 2022, my current focus is as executive producer of diaTribe's growing schedule of events and panel discussions that take place both online and in-person at major international diabetes conveneings. In this role, I have the privilege to work with, connect, and learn from some of the most impactful clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, and patient advocates dedicated to improving the lives of people living with diabetes. I am honored to bring together voices and facilitate meaningful, unbiased conversations that provide the latest information about advances and issues in diabetes care to thousands living with diabetes, their loved ones, and healthcare and industry professionals.

Portland Japanese Garden is considered the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan and is one of the largest Japanese cultural organizations in the world outside Japan. I was privileged to work with a remarkable team of professionals under the collaborative and visionary leadership of Steve Bloom to make Portland Japanese Garden an international center for Japanese arts and culture.In my capacity as Chief Advancement Officer, I led the team responsible for securing all contributed revenues that support the Garden's operational budget of $11 million. I also assisted in the completion of the organization’s $33.5 million Cultural Crossing Campaign to build a new Cultural Village designed by architect Kengo Kuma.

Portland, Oregon Area

Among the most active period orchestras in the United States, Portland Baroque is recognized as one of the world’s finest ensembles of its type, directed for 25 years by renowned baroque violinist Monica Huggett. Each season Portland Baroque Orchestra serves over 14,000 with approximately 30 ticketed performances of seven to nine productions, plus education/outreach programs. As the organization's CEO I oversaw all operational functions of the organization and had direct responsibility for strategic planning, financial oversight, board development and management, institutional collaborations, touring, individual fundraising, public and private grants, earned revenue generation and labor relations. I managed a team of staff, artists and production personnel totaling over 70 each year and oversaw the effective utilization of over 100 volunteers. The organization, which had considered ceasing operations in 2002, operated debt free under my management with a positive balance sheet for the 10 years. Completing eight of those fiscal years with surpluses, Portland Baroque Orchestra has amassed a significant working cash reserve to support special projects and provide organizational stability. Budget growth during my tenure was approximately 80%, with a 125% increase in contributed revenue, and 50% increase performances and numbers served through added education, outreach, touring and collaborative programs. Beginning in 2008, Portland Baroque partnered with the Oregon Bach Festival (University of Oregon, Eugene) and Portland Opera, among others, and built a regular touring presence in the Pacific Northwest. As executive producer, I released five CD's by PBO for commercial sale, including two on the internationally distributed AVIE label.

I organized and scheduled all performing groups for the rehearsal, production and performance in repertory of five opera productions each season. Previously served for 3 years as lead assistant to founding General Director John O. Crosby.

Managed and coordinated activity of approximately 125 singers, orchestra musicians, conductors and production staff for two 16-day festival seasons of over 45 performances each in 2001 and 2002. Represented Festival to media and funders as a high-visibility member of its international team.
