I retired from the Rockford Police Department as a Patrol Lieutenant after 28 years of service to the city. While with the Rockford PD I started as a patrol officer working my way to a Field Training Officer (after three years). I worked with the night cover shift which worked high crime hours. After seven years of service I was blessed and promoted to Sergeant. As a Sergeant I loved many assignments. I was in charge of the night cover shift for two years, in charge of the Bicycle Unit as well as the K-9 unit for eight years, worked as a Patrol Sergeant and then in charge of the community services unit. I was a member of the Rockford Police SWAT team for eight years as well as beining in charge of the City's Mobile Field Force unit (crowd control). I was promoted to Lieutenant and was in charge the second patrol shift. I was a member (field commander) of the ILEAS region 2 mobile field force which is a 70 officer multi-jurisdictional team of crowd/riot control officers. I was sent to the 2008 RNC convention as well as the 2009 G20 in Pittsburgh Pa confrence to be in charge of a platoon of Illinois riot control officers. I have developed tactics and training involving armored car uses with riot control operations and have taught these tactics to other Illinois Regional teams.I graduated from the Northwestern School for Police Staff and Command as well as the Western Illinois School for Police Executive Development.
