Matched the proposed designs with the Statement of Work and the Navy’s Performance Specification. Documented strengths and weaknesses for the Selecting Official, who selected Composite Engineering, Inc. Software Engineering Branch: Coordinated the efforts of field activities, performing technical work, in support of program offices acquiring new or updated avionics equipment. Coordinated NAVAIR’s inputs on policy regarding Mission Critical Computer Resources with other Navy and DoD organizations. Participated in Department of Navy working groups writing guides for program managers on the Ada programming language and Software Reuse.

Supervisor, Software Engineering Section: Supervised 12 government and 10 contractor employees performing quality assurance and Independent Verification and Validation tasks, including hands-on testing. Supported the acquisition of aircraft with digital flight control systems, as well as, deployed aircraft with digital flight control systems.

Software Engineering Section: Performed quality assurance and Independent Verification and Validation on digital flight control systems. Worked with NASA and Air Force on the X-29 Advanced Technology Demonstrator Program. This manned aircraft had wings that angled forward and needed the flight control computer to maintain stability. Adopted the quality assurance methods for the first Software Quality Assurance Team at the Warfare Center.

Software Engineering Section: Developed application and data reduction software for engineers monitoring flight tests using the Xerox Sigma 9 Real-Time Telemetry Processing System. Designed, coded and tested FORTRAN programs to meet the requirements of Flight Test Engineers for the F-14, F-18, and CH-46 aircraft.
