For the last 6 years I've worked at Amey Consulting as a Lighting Technician. During this time I have worked on the Manchester and Trafford PFI (Private Finance Initiative) where I have developed the fundamentals of lighting. I have furthered this knowledge by completing my Diploma in Exterior Lighting. Presently I am working for National Highways Area 14 where I am responsible for the design of all new lighting projects. This includes liaising with the local DNO (distributing network operator), the environmental and geotechnical teams as well as the clients. I have excellent time management and communication skills, work well on my own and within a team. Key Skills• The design of street lighting schemes in accordance with the current British and European standards and ILP Technical Reports.• Development of spend to save initiatives to reduce both energy and carbon reduction for street lighting networks eg LEDs, white light sources, Central Management systems, dimming, trimming.• Experienced in the use of lighting design software including Lighting Reality, DIALux, 18th edition Cablecale and Autocad.• Provision of advice on all street lighting matters.• The development of preliminary designs, bills of quantities, specifications and scheme costs.• Safe Isolation, G39, ECS, and First Aid.
