After more than three decades working for large publishing companies, I jumped the fence and became a literary agent at the end of 2022. In November 2024 Grace Heifetz, Michaela Maguire, Rebecca Slater and I started a new agency, a4 Literary. Based in Sydney and Melbourne, a4 Literary is dedicated to championing stories by Australian authors and creators. We represent writers of all genres for publication into print, ebook and audiobook and also sell their rights into the US, UK and all major translation markets as well as stage, television and film.Together, we have have significant experience across all corners of the industry and substantial international reach through a network of some of the world’s most respected agents, publishers and scouts. a4 Literary is a true collective: we make our combined experience and skills available to all of our authors, regardless of which individual agent they sign with.As a former editor, publisher and publishing director, I aim to bring a unique depth of industry knowledge and publishing experience to the authors I represent at a4. My particular areas of interest are memoir, politics, current affairs, history, narrative non-fiction, and quality commercial fiction.
