After spending 18 years in law enforcement with the Johnson County District Attorney and the Kansas Attorney General, I've cashed in for the pension and have restarted my forensic and investigative financial practice, Financial Forensics, Inc. Several other professionals have agreed to join me as growth in the practice demands additional resources.

I've returned to the Johnson County District Attorney after spending 2 years working as a special agent for the Kansas Attorney General, where I was assigned to the Kansas City Field Office of the KBI. Working for the AG's office really broadened my criminal investigation experience to include arson investigation, livestock fraud, and other areas of investigation you can't get in a suburban county like Johnson County. However, with the Johnson Co. DA's office back in trustworthy hands, it's good to be back!

Working as a special agent for the Kansas Attorney General offered a broadened investigative experience in that I was assigned to cases that are more representative of the crimes occuring in rural Kansas communities. In contrast to the business-oriented crimes of a suburban county like Johnson County, cases like livestock fraud, grain elevator fraud, and public corruption tended to be more typical assignments at the AG's office. My assignment was to the Kansas City field office of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and worked many cases jointly with their special agents. The KBI office assignment offered great experience in working with well trained field agents whose standards of evidence collection and investigative methods are second to none.I represented the Attorney General on the Kansas IT Security Council, a state panel tasked to define and implement network and database security for all state agencies in Kansas. I also developed a statewide elder abuse awareness campaign with the Kansas Dept of Social and Rehabilitative Services, and worked with financial industry trade associations to implement the campaign statewide.

Hired as a staff accountant, promoted to advanced staff accountant. Specialized in insurance industry auditing, and worked on several fraud and public corruption cases--the inspiration for a career change in 2000 and current career path.
