Facilitate and monitor project, financial, and contract management associated with Council's Capital Works Program. Focus on continuous improvement initiatives including enhancing organisational culture and communication. Demonstrate leadership in achieving business unit outcomes, fostering a culture of excellence, and maintaining robust communication channels across the organisation.Tasks include:- Development of a project management framework to enable the efficient and effective execution of the Capital Works Program (Civil, Building and Environmental Projects).- Plan and implement divisional directions ensuring clear communication, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.- Facilitate (strategic and business) planning including development and implementation of the corporate plan, business plans and individual work plans, consistent with divisional and Council directions.- Ensure strong technical (e.g. project, financial and contract management) skills are adopted and practiced at all times by the Business Unit.- Actively participate in continuous improvement of systems, procedures, organisational culture and cross organisational communication and activities.- Monitor service provision to ensure timely, accurate and efficient service is provided to both internal and external customers.- Provide leadership in alternative income and revenue generation, including grant and sponsorship management.- Ensure the provision and implementation of Workplace Health and Safety processes.- Provide leadership, facilitate and monitor efficient achievement of Business Unit outcomes and projects, ensuring services delivered meet Community Strategic Plan, Management Plans and service agreement requirements (scope, standards, regulations, legislation and customer satisfaction). - Provide timely and systematic advice and reporting to the Director of Assets and Infrastructure and the Executive Management team on all aspects of operation of the Business Unit.
