Twenty-five years of experience developing and leading communications strategy. Hughes joined Morrison Healthcare in June 2013 and was promoted to his current role in October of 2014. Hughes leads internal and external communications and recognition for Morrison Healthcare and Crothall Healthcare and is responsible for communicating their brand positioning as Compass One Healthcare in the market.Hughes was previously a senior vice president at Hope-Beckham, a public relations agency in Atlanta, from October 2007 to June 2013. There, he was responsible for new business development as well as the communications strategy and execution for HBI clients. His client list included the Belk Inc. Southern Division, TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola, East West Manufacturing, Technical College System of Georgia, Partnership Against Domestic Violence and the Atlanta Sports Council. Hughes joined Hope-Beckham in October 2007 from the Atlanta Hawks, Thrashers and Philips Arena, where he was SVP of communications. There, he led all communications and oversaw the two teams’ radio broadcasting talent from the company’s March 2004 inception. Before the sports teams and arena, Hughes worked in public relations for 10-plus years at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., within Turner Sports and Corporate Communications. Hughes previously sat on the Leadership Council for Zoo Atlanta and was president of the Rotary Club of Brookhaven from 2012-13. He was recognized as the Brookhaven club's “Rotarian of the Year” in 2012 and received the club's 2012 "You Are The Key" award from the Dekalb Rotary Council. Also, Hughes received a 2011 Community Partner Award for his work with local nonprofit L.E.A.D. (Launch, Expose, Advise and Direct.). Hughes graduated from the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.
