Current

Niagara-On-The-Lake, On

For the 2015 season of the Shaw Festival, we used a new-to-us product, Alupanel in the construction of two sets, "Pygmalion" and "Top girls." I became the go to guy for the use of this product. It had it's challenges (to be sure) but in the end, it looked and preformed excellent. I love working through adversity and am very proud of how these two sets looked but, I am ready to go back to working with wood.

Festival Theatre Changeover Flyman/Rigger/Stagehand

Niagara-On-The-Lake, On

Responsible for the operation and ongoing maintainence of the fly system during changeovers at the Shaw Festival's largest theatre during the repertory season. I have eleven years experience with IATSE Local 461. Attention to detail is paramount to my position which also entails ongoing maintenence of sets and props, and general stagecraft. Both actors and audiences expect everything to be perfect 100% of the time and I am proud of the high standard of the work of my crew.My greatest strength is my ability to foresee problems within the constraints of live performance and solve them in a quick and efficient manner. My experiences on both sides of the lights give me a solid grasp of the needs of all aspects of a production.I also build scenery at the Scene Shop, work as a trade on lighting calls, and I have experience as running crew.

Artistic Producer

Design 17 Theatre Foundation

I am a founding member of Design 17 Theatre Foundation, a federally-incorporated theatre company whose main focus is on bringing Canadian stories to lesser exposed areas of Canada. Our company's strength comes from being able to capitalize on the many business and artistic relationships that I have forged over the years in all aspects of theatre, all across the country. Bringing Canada's stories back to life is our mission for a reason: it's important. Bringing together some of the brightest and most creative theatre professionals gives audiences an experience that will stay with them long after the curtain call. Our most recent project in development is a study in how the history of Canada touches our everyday lives. This is a multi-diciplinary show incorporating acting, live music, video, dance and standup and will touch on over 50 stories from our nations past. "The Incomplete History of Tom/Canada" will be ready for theatres for the 2016 summer season and will tour extensively to celebrate Canada's 150 years in 2017. I have been very fortunate to have had a somwhat unique life to date and look forward to sharing parts of it in with audiences. If you would like to tell us which stories of Canada are important to you, drop us an email at; design17theatre@gmail.com It is your history, too.

Actor, Writer, Director

Actor/Director Various Production Companies Across Canada

Former ACTRA and CAEA member before wiithdrawing to pursue the backstage with IATSE.Highlights include: "Love and Death on Long Island," "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" the TV series, my one-man show, "Wait A Minute, Mr. Postman," and eight television commercials.Be it comedy or drama, I love to move audiences with my performances. My work ethic is second to none. I am proud of the fact that, as an actor, more times than not, either a director or the production company has asked me to return for a second production. The art of acting is in truly creating during rehearsals and the magic brought to the stage each night is in making every performance seem as if it were the first time the character ever had the thoughts and actions that the audience witnesses. The less glorious job of an actor is the search for that next project. ("Would you like fries with that?")
