I am a dedicated professional with over 3 decades of experience working in the non-profit sector. I joined STARS (Scottsdale Training Rehabilitation Services) in 2014. STARS is an nonprofit organization that provides employment and training programs for the developmentally disabled. I have been fortunate to have many roles at STARS from DSP in CBE, GSE Case Manager, CIE Job Developer, CIE Supervisor, CIE Manager, and CIE Director. Over my career I have had the privledged to work in Special Education, Special Olympics, Crisis Shelters, Family Reunification and Preservation services.In February 2020 in the height of the pandemic, I was asked to help created STARS Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) program, that is based on the Employment First model. CIE supports people with disabilities to obtain and maintain competitive integrated employment within their own communities while identifying and increasing their strengths qualifications. In addition to informing and educating employers, state agencies, families, and providers about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities and being an advocate for a diverse, equitable, and comprehensive workforce.
