Tom Kyle offers over thirty years of architectural experience in commercia mixed-use, transit, civic, public utility, and science & technology facilities, with focus on zero-emission solutions. Tom is motivated by the opportunity to understand each client's unique operational needs and propose a range of potential solutions through a culture of teamwork. Tom leads a design process that brings various stakeholders and departments together in common cause to improve the lives and achievement of staff and public alike. Tom has extensive knowledge in all aspects of sustainable architectural practice, including zero-carbon building design, and carries these objectives through programming, design, contract documents, and construction review. He applies his knowledge of architecture to all scales of design from large-scale urban planning down to the resolution of details. Tom also has years of on-site experience and advises on technical coordination, review of constructability, durability, and phasing. Tom is a regular speaker at peer conferences including the American Institute of Architects (AIA-AAJ) and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. His projects have received several awards, including the City of Toronto Green Design Award of Excellence, Ontario Association Award of Excellence, the RAIC National Urban Design Award, the Canadian Interiors People's Choice Award, The Canadian Association of Professional Heritage Consultants Adaptive Reuse Project Award, and The Canadian Architect Award of Merit.
