Created and released three major products: Modem Share, NPPC, and Modem Monitor.Consulting, teaching, and contract development services for internet, database, medical, andnetworking products on Windows and Unix platforms. Design, implementation, and maintenance for a full-service (EMR and Practice Management) medicalsystem using Microsoft SQL Server for database support. Projects include development of the med-med and med-allergy interaction check using SOAP to interface with the supporting web service, electronic lab results, and electronic insurance remittance. Designed and implemented the installation and upgrade facilities. Implemented the Sybase to SQL Server conversion for upgrading current customers to the new version of the software. Implemented changes necessary to meet CMS (MediCare) regulations for Meaningful Use certification. Completed 5-year project for full database conversion from VersaForm to VSS Medical Aura. Required understanding database architecture in a heavily triggered system, mapping schemas between systems, handling missing or incompatible data, and rigorous testing including detailed verification of end-to-end data transfer. Handled sensitive, potentially critical medical information; scheduled conversions to manage system downtime and allow for real-time troubleshooting of unusual system behaviour.

Developed both functional enhancements and data base conversion for e-commerce services softwareand a production website. Owned the interface responsibility between the development group and various support groups within the company, including operations and the database support group. Led the QA group for the development organization.Designed and developed an automated release control process for e-commerce services. The system, implemented in Perl, recognizes all source changes in a Perforce repository, provides email notification and moves changes to the QA system. When the QA team has completed testing, the changes are automatically moved to the production system. The system also tracks changes for specific files and notifies selected individuals via email.Designed and developed a system that automated the production update for HTML files to support news articles received from a news server. As articles were received, the system automatically updated the HTML and pushed the changes to production to provide the most recent articles on the Web pages. The system updates both ASP and JSP Web pages.

Designed and developed a backup/restore interface for the IBM Supercomputer File Server project. This system provides a POSIX (UNIX) file system running under MVS/ESA, supporting both NFS and FTP services for UNIX LAN clients using the TCP/IP network interface.

Design and implementation of a major section of system that dynamically traps calls to the ADABAS data base system and redirects the call to a DB2 database system. These programs were written in 370 assembler language and the system runs under MVS/XA in either a batch or CICS environment.

During a thirteen-year career with the IBM Corporation, I held positions as a Director, Department Manager, Research Staff Member, Instructor and Senior Programmer. I managed and worked on a wide variety of projects including application development for financial and administrative applications, production support, mainframe terminal systems, general-purpose computer interconnection networks, systems programming, education, operating system development, airline reservation systems development, NASA Control Program development, and IBM compilers.
