I trained in the sports department, writing a diverse body of work about various sports. I interviewed international footballers and some of the best know football managers in England, as well as some local ice hockey players.

I had a placement with this paper, writing strories, editing work done by other journalists and interviewing people of importance to the paper. I also attended press conferences with heads of state. The opportunity I had with a smaller paper in Liverpool allowed me to obtain a posting here.

I covered local elections that took place around the time I was there and edited the work of fellow journalists.
