Selected from a highly competitive cohort to act one rank up and assist a 1-Star general in day to day running of an HQ.• Principal staff officer for the HQ of a brigade of 6,000 military and civilian staff – acting as the UK’s lead armoured taskforce delivering vital military support to Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion.• Overseeing desks for operations, planning, HR and logistics – ensuring output is delivered effectively and in a timely manner and trusted to back-brief situations to external government organisations.• Adapting based on real-time lessons learnt from the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, then planning and delivering high-profile UK-based training packages for Ukrainian troops ready to be imminently tested in combat.• Selected during this role to be seconded as a liaison/planning officer to the Danish Army, who were acting as the lead element in NATO’s largest ever deployment along the Russian boarder in Eastern Europe. Effectively forming and utilising crucial relationships and enabling the successful delivery of NATO’s most high profile and significant military action in recent decades.

Picked from an application pool of 90+ top third candidates to run current operations for the British military in the US led coalition combating Islamic State in Iraq and the broader Middle East.• Responsible for authorising and vetoing proposed activity and coordinating missions for 200 British military personnel in Iraq and neighbouring countries, based on threat analysis from UK and multinational intelligence agencies.• Co-wrote the still extant plan for the potential strategic withdrawal of British troops from Iraq. Working intimately with the US Defense Department and liaising with NATO partners in Afghanistan during the Kabul withdrawal to obtain accurate lessons learnt - to ensure an economically viable, militarily safe and politically acceptable plan was in place.• Forging long-lasting and valued connections across a multinational coalition of 6,000 troops from 30+ countries. Ensuring that British military operations remained in line with UK policy but also aligned with cultural values and foreign policies of partner nations. Frequently requested to sit in on discussions with foreign senior leaders to help influence outcomes and make the most of expertly crafted diplomatic relationships.• Trusted with production, dissemination and accountability of highly sensitive and top-secret material.• Responsible for accurately accounting for British personnel and equipment after any direct kinetic engagement from enemy forces – with my reports being delivered directly to the UK Prime Minister. Successfully performing these duties in real life whilst personally under fire during multiple attacks on coalition positions in 2021.

Supervising and training of 90 officers and soldiers whilst preparing them for Operations in Eastern Europe and Mali.• Successfully forecasting and delivering of training events in line with UN and NATO requirements for upcoming deployments, ensuring troops and equipment are delivered in time and ready for operations.• Responsible for conducting planned and dynamic risk assessments for training and newly integrated equipment – updating internal policies to mitigate risk as required and passing upwards to be distributed across wider Army.• Running operations for my squadron during the UK’s largest Brigade Exercise (6000+) since 2001. Coordinating transport, feeding and tactical activity whilst supporting planning processes of higher commanders. Commended for producing the most effective Squadron (out of 15 similar sized units) of the exercise.• In 2020, I was attached to Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Local Resilience Forum for 5 months to assist in covid preparations and crisis management. In this role I successfully restructured the PPE procurement pathway for local gov, which was later rolled out nationwide – saving the NHS hundreds of thousands of pounds and potentially saving many lives.

Coordinating day-to-day operations for a dispersed 100+ British Military team across West Africa (with focus on North-East Nigeria), supporting local forces to combat Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa.• Liaising with international military and civilian partners including UN, African Union and UK FCDO to ensure training packages delivered to 500+ Nigerian troops met the required syllabus.• Acting as Operations Officer to UN training team deployed to Liberia, and successfully delivering Liberia’s first fully trained and internationally assured contribution to the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali.• Outside of main role, independently identified a need for specialist training amongst the Nigerian diplomatic police force. Liaised with FCDO for funding and permission, then wrote and delivered a training package to 90 local police officers – receiving commendation from the British High Commissioner in Nigeria for my efforts.
