Winchester/Fredericksbug Virginia

Managed materials and inspection activities at two precast plants with 21 technicians. Developed SCC concrete mix for use in structural components, that allowed for faster placement, less man hours, better work environment with less noise. Worked with Project Managers and Architects to design specific color and texture combinations to meet project requirements. Designed excel worksheets for calculation of strand elongation which provide more constant data with less human error. Revamped documentation process, while scanning all pre-pour/post-pour, strand calculations and compressive strength reports for each placement and electronically providing for distribution to clients, therefore eliminating time for coping and distributing hard copies.

Coordinated actives of three technicians for support of eight redi-mix concrete plants producing over 800,000 cu yds of concrete per year. Worked with contractors and architects to provide submittals for a wide range of projects, some requiring 10, 12 and 14 thousand PSI strengths. Performed technical support for clients ranging from testing lab performance to specific concrete mix requests. Designed mixes using 25% recycled aggregate for residential use. Developed excel programs to aid the sales department in pricing concrete mixes in all plant utilizing up to 2000 mixes per plant.

Provided technical support for 8 regional regional plants and client services including submittals, trouble shooting and designing concrete mixes.

Laplata, Maryland

QC Manager over the BWI Rental Car Facility and Tenant Parking Lot. Reviewing submittals for all trades as well as coordinating activities and schedules for a $100 million dollar, 2 million square foot parking garage and 140 acre site. Managing 12 technicians in daily construction material testing on aggregates, asphalt, concrete and soils. Major concrete placements of over 1,400 cu. yds were accomplished utilizing numerous technicians sampling every truck upon arrival for air content and slump and casting compressive strength specimens.QC Manager of the Pentagon Secure Bypass coordinating the activities of numerous trades while coordinating activities with Pentagon officials. Project required the re-routing of hwy 110 away from the Pentagon allowing for more secure parking and vehicular traffic away from the Penagon.

Monroe, Ohio

Worked as QC Manager on a 500 million and 1 billion dollar steel mills coordinating activities with all other trades as well as pre-pour inspections. Largest placement consisted of 5200 cu yds and 24 elevations. 15000 anchor bolts were placed with 3 mil tolerance, the largest being 6 inch diameter and 2 tons apiece. Preformed the duties of QC Manger, Project Engineer and Safety Manager on 3 Dollar General tilt-up project with the largest being 875,00 sq ft slab on grade and 275,000 tilt-up walls, 50' tall, 17' wide and 9.25 inches thick.QC/Safety Manger over the 1.4 million sq ft ACME Food Warehouse in Denver, PA.. Project required unique concrete placement controls while monitoring air quality in confined spaces. Placement of 8 inches of concrete over 6 inches of styrofoam over sand and glycol lines to prevent freezing of sub grade. Also the stringent requirements to place concrete in superflat concrete sections that allowed only FF 100 using a profile meter.QC/Safety Manger over the 17 story addition to the NIH Clinical Research Facility in Bethesda Maryland. Coordinating the activities of over 400 co-workers and numerous trades in the placement of concrete under stringent schedule and safety requirements. Provided instruction for 10 and 30 hour OSHA courses. Performed pre-pour inspections and coordination with all other contractors on site.

Atlanta, Georgia, Nashville, Tennessee

Provided construction materials testing on aggregates, asphalt, concrete, soils and steel, as well as technical support. Projects included are Atlanta International Airport, Nashville's Airport, Denver's Airport, Richard B Russell Dam and Lake, Epcot, Alvin T Vogel Nuclear Power Plant, Nissan plant. Marketed and opened a satellite office in Clarksville, Tn working with 6 inspectors and 1 office assistant while handling scheduling, marketing, client services and technical support for the Clarksville, Tn area and Ft. Campbell military base. Providing over $750,000 in billing and operating at $0.57/dollar, $0.10 under budget.
