- Led a team of Aerothermal Engineers.- Responsible for cooling the engine, gearbox and ancillaries on a Formula 1 car.- Designed systems of heat exchangers, pipes and ducts to meet challenging performance targets.- Built simulations to predict the behaviour of each system.- Organised R+D projects to characterise components and improve correlation.

Led aerodynamic development of a Formula 1 car in three different areas:1. high-level concepts and regulation changes (2014-2015),2. front end including the front wing, front wheels and chassis (2016-2017),3. cooling of the engine, gearbox and ancillaries (2018-2021), similar to my current role.

Joined a startup Formula 1 team before its first season, stuck through financial disaster and a last-minute buyout, and had the satisfaction of scoring our first championship points five years later. Beginning as an Aerodynamicist I worked on almost every part of the car, eventually managing a group of 8 engineers and organising wind tunnel programs for the rear half of the car.

Designed the bypass OGV - a ring of turning vanes with a 3 metre outer diameter - for the Trent XWB, a new large civil jet engine. At the time of writing there are more than 1700 of these engines in service on Airbus A350 airliners.

A series of 3-6 month projects giving a diverse experience of engineering in a large, high-tech organisation. Included making and testing a magnetic gearbox, designing a combustion rig, researching alternative mould materials for casting turbine blades and developing CFD software.
