I was part of a small team that coordinated our 400 staff, during peak times of the camp season. This involved me being a mentor to other staff members in senior roles, and planning and executing staff programs during their downtime.Another large part of the role was to liaise with external groups who would use our campus facilities for stays anywhere between 1 day and 7 days. I would build their schedule and accommodate their needs, I would then work with the internal staff at NJY Camps to make sure the groups needs were met. I would plan and run multiple programs for up to 600 people, both adults and children on a daily basis. The role required me to work on call 24 hours a day 6 days a week. No two days were ever the same, dynamic problem solving and effective planning were integral to perform this role effectively.Keeping my staff highly motivated was of paramount importance to me, as i believe the key to a successful workforce is the staff being happy and engaged, ensuring a positive customer experience.

During my time with Mercure I was directly in charge of running a restaurant and bar throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner, I was also in charge of room service and anything food and beverage related in our conferencing department, Effective timekeeping and communication skills with our guests, guest service and kitchen teams were essential in this role.Maintaining a positive attitude was important as the role was very customer focused and their needs were integral to our business.I was often required to problem solve in areas of the business that did not necessarily fall under my department due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

I started my employment at McDonalds as a team member but was promoted twice in quick succession due to my work ethic and natural leadership qualities. I was often the most senior staff member on site overseeing both employees of McDonalds and external contractors.My duties as a Shift Manager included opening and closing the store, setting up the store for a productive day, ordering stock, receiving deliveries, running the training team, handling and counting money including making large safe deposits, answering customer questions, dealing effectively with complaints and overseeing health, safety and cleanliness of the restaurant.These duties were performed alongside delivering excellent customer service and the preparation and serving of food.
