Working as a broadly-skilled analyst across a wide range of engineering applications, including metallic components and supporting systems, multi-body dynamics and lubrication of component interfaces. Typically projects are on internal combustion engines, however an increasing number of projects are focused on e-machines.Typical analyses ranges from hand calculations at the start of a project concept phase through to highly-detailed definitive phase analysis before system testing and investigative analysis to support testing. Analysis topics are wide-ranging and typically include (in increasing complexity): critical fastener analysis, torsional vibration analysis, metallic component fatigue analysis, bearing analysis (hydrodynamic and rolling element bearings), gear analysis, multibody dynamics analysis (including crankshafts and valvetrains), piston and ringpack analysis.Software packages used include industry-standard CAD and FE packages. I believe strongly in the use of digitalisation and automation to both increase work throughput and improve the quality of engineering solution, therefore I am an advocate and highly-skilled user of Python and MATLAB in support of analysis workflows. I am also an expert user in most Ricardo Software products (inc. VALDYN, ENGDYN, PISDYN, RINGPAK, FEARCE).The promotion to Project Engineer means that I take the lead on the work that I perform, generally requiring little oversight from more senior engineers. In additional to technical work, I work directly with the clients in both technical and commercial aspects, and have received high praise for my ability to present engineering problems and my solutions.
