About Tom Rhoades

My name is Tom and I am highly skilled in customer experience and people management. I have over 10 years of experience in customer service related industries. Almost every company I've worked for has entrusted me to be an effective leader. I thrive in fast-paced environments where things change and you have to think on your feet. One of my favorite things to do is play games and solve puzzles and that has definitely translated into my professional life as well. I love new challenges and figuring out new ways to overcome obstacles. I take pride in all my work and I always strive for the best results, but I'm not competitive. I don't need to be the best individual, I'd rather help push my team to be the best.To be perfectly honest, what I really bring to the table is my life experience. I’ve nearly died twice in my life now. Once it was during my senior year of high school, which meant I missed out on a lot of things that most people got a chance to experience. And then again nearly 17 years later, I fell septic and the doctors had to put me on pressers which took blood flow from my extremities and kept blood pumping to my vital organs. The unfortunate side effect being that I lose blood flow to my extremities which basically meant my hands and toes had essentially died. This is just one more experience that I’ve had to deal with that has given me something to be insecure about. But I finally reached a point in my life where it’s no longer an insecurity and it’s now something I try to enjoy on a day-to-day basis. You should see the reaction people give me when I meet a new person and I still reach out with my right arm like I’m gonna shake their hand, but then they realize there’s nothing but a stump, and then they’re left trying to improvise, while I am staring at them dead in their eyes, waiting for them to stop making the moment weird. You have to lean into your circumstances and find ways to make your flaws or faults into a strength or advantage that no one else can have.
