Designing, building, preparing for implementation and developing Stores, Distribution/logistics, customer fulfilment and supply chain network structures for colleagues and managers with global remit. Working across teams and functions to design, review and implement structures, role design, supporting tools, training and selection materials.

Working in collaboration with the HR office teams and regional store teams, listening to colleagues and customers, understanding the root cause of the issues and designing and implementing new/improved people solutions to support a change in culture.I developed a new performance management process and tools, consulted with Trade Unions, focusing on building a firm foundation to build upon using Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as the compass to guide the project. Coached and supported store teams, senior managers and directors to embrace the trials and the changes needed in their own behaviours. Reporting to the Customer Experience Director and HR Director, keeping them updated with progress, challenges, changes to make and overall results.

Developed employees and managers at all levels. Designed and wrote a wages training programme for wages clerks and managers for the UK business, going to all 2,600 UK stores. Worked cross functionally to audit and design a robust process for the checking of right to work in the UK and establish robust ways of working in the HR support teams and processes in stores. Developed and mentored managers to progress their careers and built and implemented a development programme for the Hertfordshire area for all levels of resourcing and development. Worked remotely to support the Senior Regional Director in designing and implementing an HR strategy for Store Manager development and performance management.

Worked with the emergency services across London to design, test and implement new procedures, training and ‘drills’ for major incidents including terror attacks. Co-ordinated across all 3 emergency services a terror attack training exercise in a dis-used underground station.

Over saw the transition of Savecentre to J. Sainsburys PLC, including store closure, temporary employee re-deployment, restructuring, TUPE contract changes and store re-opening. Worked to fully integrate the HR operation into the store and lead the team to be the first Sainsbury’s store in the UK to gain the Investors In People award.
