Aberdovey

I deliver outdoor education programmes to young people and adults at the Outward Bound centre in Aberdovey. Each programme had a range of specific outcomes for the participants including leadership, environmental awareness, communication and teambuilding. Some of the activities included trekking, sea kayaking, sailing, camping and climbing.

Globally

I led groups of teenagers on long-haul expeditions to Brazil, India, Vietnam, Chile, Tanzania, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Ecuador. During the expeditions, the team completed numerous treks, a project phase in a local village and rest and relaxation.

I led a group of teenagers on a month-long expedition to Northern Peru. During the expedition, the team undertook a gruelling high-altitude trek and helped build an enclosure for some nesting condors in the Andes.

I led adventure holidays for adults in various parts of the world. This was an extremely demanding but incredibly rewarding position. Managing large budgets (often in foreign currencies), organising complex logistics, communicating with and leading non-English speaking staff, making crucial decisions in remote and hostile environments, and being the face of one of the most reputable adventure holiday companies in the world were some of the roles involved.
