Leading on implementation of significantly enhanced security capabilities, including multi factor authentication in line with close regulatory scrutiny.

Delivery lead for multimillion-pound flagship application for UK schools, incorporating a range of learning and assessment technologies. Brought in at a point where the programme was in crisis, running over budget with lack of clarity and coordination across multiple global technology teams. Drove proper management of supplier teams, improving performance and transparency over costs leading in a little over a year to successful delivery to market at the start of 2023 and clear budget forecasting and delivery tracking for the next financial year.Led on delivery of entirely new support systems for exceptional assessment arrangements for UK and International Schools during the COVID exams shutdown period, including being chosen to lead on cross awarding organisation working groups responsible for design and delivery schedule due to knowledge of competitors and global markets. The resultant solutions, delivered at pace under extreme pressure, received accolades for their user-friendly design and efficient operation and were used by 5,000+ schools across UK over the exceptional arrangement period.Responsible for building and managing in-house development teams, located on-shore and off-shore, tasked with migrating on-premise hosted legacy applications to new technology stack (java/.NET with React front end) hosted in the cloud with AWS, targeting more efficient workforce budgeting and transformation of legacy systems.

Responsible for technical strategy for comprehensive reworking of UX for school facing Capability applications, including implementation of major rebrand of Pearson digital. Used modern interface design methodology to develop cost-effective technical framework and component library, complying with industry standard accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1). Managed rollout across existing applications through multiple development teams and established process for incorporation in future projects.

Managed a team responsible for re-engineering of existing business processes with a view to improving and refining them as part of a major redevelopment of Pearson's qualification delivery capabilities in the UK for over two million learners annually at nearly 10,000 learning institutions, building reliable, efficient and scalable systems. Led on the use of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and Lean Sigma approaches and on the provision of the business case for the significant investment involved.

Led on strategic development of customer facing systems used by approximately 10,000 learning institutions in the UK and abroad as part of a three year customer service transformation programme, including the implementation of a new Customer Relations Management system used to track inbound and outbound customer contact across a range of channels.
