Industrial Automation Engineer (November 2015 – Present)As a contract engineer I have I have been exposed to numerous types of hardware and software systems, job sites and personnel. Engineering responsibilities include all phases of industrial automaton projects mostly in the food industry. Design responsibilities include selecting hardware, creating cabinet drawings, writing PLC code in both Siemens and Rockwell environments and integrating VFDs and HMIs. Responsibilities included defining timing constraints and synthesis using Design Compiler. Sole technical resource on a multiple ECO ASIC spin. Responsibilities included stitching changes into netlist, vendor liaison, design engineer liaison, timing verification and final sign-off. Qualified a million-plus-gate chip. Responsibilities included performing a hierarchical synthesis of the chip using Design Compiler and qualifying vendor’s routed netlist by using PrimeTime-SI to perform static timing analysis. Led a team of engineers that designed the front end of the most complex tier in the image pipe of an inkjet ASIC. The task included tier definition, module design, Verilog coding, enhancement of existing image path blocks and verification. Modules personally responsible for included tier control, text enhancement, tone mapping, color mapping, scaling and dithering.All-In-One Inkjet Subsystem Design Engineer (July 1996 - March 2002)Lead engineer responsible for the design and the embedded assembly code of user interface subassemblies installed in inkjet All-In-One printers. Design engineering responsibilities included all phases of digital and analog module design from initial concept to contract manufacturer hand-off. Design specifics included parts selection, schematic capture using Mentor design tools, lay-out supervision, writing of embedded assembly code, test and verification.
