Responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of international partnership activity in order to enhance the global reputation of the College, the role includes operational management and delivery of international opportunities and ethical, contractual, academic and financial accountability for the activities we deliver. Outputs include but are not limited to: funded collaborations across teaching and learning, research and knowledge exchange, consultancy agreements, transnational education, student and staff mobility, internationalisation at home, and international student recruitment. As a member of the College Management Team I work with with colleagues across LCC to ensure work is co-ordinated and is aligned strategically.

Interim role in which I took on further responsibilities in addition to my substantive post as International Development Manager. These included representation of LCC at key cross-University fora on global engagement including Directors/Heads of International meetings, International Partnership Committees and the International Strategy Group; leading on the business recovery and continuity of LCC’s international partnerships during the pandemic; taking full oversight of the College’s International Implementation Plan and ensuring alignment with key University priorities; and supporting the Clerk/Chair in planning and managing business for the College’s Academic Partnerships Committee.

Managing the College's International Development Office, I am responsible for providing a high quality advice, delivery and support service to College staff and students in order to help realise the College's International Relations strategy. I lead a dedicated team responsible for the development of international partnerships, which includes creating and delivering opportunities for staff and student mobility (including Erasmus), strategic policy development and planning, identifying and implementing enhancement initiatives that support the College's academic and business development, and delivering a management information service relating to the College's international activity. The role includes contact with a wide variety of stakeholders, including incoming and outgoing exchange students, College based programme leaders/administrators and their counterparts at our partner institutions, as well as specialist College/UAL teams including enterprise, research, marketing, quality and senior management.

Leading the student facing section of the Study Abroad team, I worked directly with students, academics, partner institutions, agents and third party providers on all aspects of the Study Abroad student experience. I held responsibility for converting enquiries to applications, guiding students through admission and enrolment, day to day advice and support, transcripting and credit transfer, collecting student feedback and providing monthly reports to UAL Colleges on enquiries and applications. During my years in the role, I represented UAL nationally and internationally - on student recruitment trips to partner institutions, as well as at conferences and organisations related to arts education and international student mobility, including NAFSA, HEURO, the College Art Association (CAA) and BUTEX. I also took a key role in supporting the hosting of the bi-annual BUTEX UK conference when it was held at Chelsea College of Arts in 2010.

Maternity cover in the role with overall management responsibility for Study Abroad programmes at 5 of the University's 6 specialist art and design Colleges, including: staff/team management and training, budgeting, student recruitment and marketing, immigration compliance for Study Abroad and commercial short courses, and working on the University's international and commercial management teams. Representing the University internationally was a key part of the role - I managed UAL's attendance at NAFSA (the largest conference/networking event of it's kind for international education professionals), took UAL for the first time to the Forum on International Education in Chicago, and undertook several recruitment trips to partner institutions in the US.

As Assistant Academic Officer, I was responsible for credit transfer, maintaining student enrolment data, coordinating student homestays and providing advice to US students on studying in the UK. As Housing Officer, I took on the management of 3 student residences in central London, including pastoral care, room allocation, budgeting, liaising with contractors and suppliers, maintenance, general upkeep and capital improvement projects. I also acted as Arcadia's key UK contact for the Study Abroad Offices at a wide portfolio of British universities, including Kings College London, the School of Oriental and African Studies, Royal Holloway University of London, the University of Sussex, the University of Essex, Lancaster University and the University of Nottingham.

Working at this screening agency, I held responsibility for conducting thorough background screenings for new hires to a diverse portfolio of prominent clients in the financial services sector, including HSBC, Citibank and Pershing. Key aspects of the role included accurate registration of new screening requests, identification and investigation of all discrepancies (with accurate reporting where appropriate), the writing, proofreading and editing of case reports for clients and ensuring the provision of a high level of customer service at all stages of the screening process.
