My role involved the overall running of the depot; controlling costs and maximizing profitability whilst achieving a high level of customer service. ‘01 – ‘02. Working at the Central Logistics Office reporting directly to the National Operations Planning Manager. I was responsible for the daily planning of the Primary Distribution part of the Marks & Spencer Foods contract. Responsibilities included the leadership of a Network Planning Team (responsible for the Primary Distribution of 90% of the food for M&S stores), Fulfilling the requirements of 130 customers to Marks & Spencer, with an accuracy level in excess of 99.8%. ‘99 – ‘00. A 15-month industrial placement at the largest Marks & Spencer Food Distribution Centre. Working as Transport Shift Manager running over 60 vehicles, then Warehouse Shift Manager overseeing 50-60 staff. Managed a project for Marks & Spencer, which saved them over £500,000 per annum.
