I graduated as a veterinarian in 1999 from the University of Cambridge Veterinary School. Since then I have worked continuously in first opinion veterinary practice predominantly with production animals. I am currently a clinical director at a 19 vet farm animal practice in the North West of the UK where I have worked for the past 10 years. I am clinical director of the Tuberculosis Testing Team of six testers and two admin support staff.I am also Operations Director for the regional veterinary delivery partner XL Farmcare Midlands Ltd., the company responsible for delivery of statutory veterinary services in the Midlands region - primarily tuberculosis testing. I was also responsible for managing and co-ordinating the regional official veterinarian response to the last significant national avian influenza outbreak in 2016/17.I have developed a specific interest in cattle lameness and foot trimming and I deliver training and advice in this area. I am an AHDB Dairy Mobility Mentor.I am also a keen data analyst - using data to inform decisions on farm. My clinical responsibilities as a senior vet include the delivery of clinical services (reproduction, health planning, health advice) to a number of large dairy units.I am a LANTRA approved trainer.
