Stephen Midgley in Amazon wrote: "...all the works are very fine and it's hard to pick out favourites, but I especially appreciated the solo and concertato vocal work from sopranos and bass in 'Veni Domine'..."
Role listed
David Stancliffe in earlymusicreview.com wrote: "...This is great music-making, and the ease with which the sensible tempi changes are managed without any overt conducting as well as the cohesion and coherence of the style that make the texts the focus of the performances sets a new benchmark in the way we are learning to approach Bach Cantatas."
Role listed
The Guardian wrote: "...some operatic voices overstate or over-gloss the raw spirit, but soprano Martina Jankova and baritone Tomáš Král have clear, candid voices with a gentle touch from pianist Ivo Kahánek."
American Record Guide - March / April 2016 wrote: "...Janáček's music is a conversation...you never know where a piece is going. Soprano Matina Janková and baritone Tomáš Král fully communicate this freshness and sense of surprise. They are earthy and bold, never mannered or fussy, full of feeling but not coarse. Král has a haunting melancholy in songs like "Carnation" and "Love" ... Supraphon's production is first-class, with authoritative notes, full texts, and well-produced photographs. Not to be missed."
Role listed
David Nelson wrote: "...what could become Zelenka’s greatest hit if ever played on the radio, the motet Chvalte Boha silného, ZWV165, sung by Tomáš Král."
