After graduating from South San High School, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Marketing and International Business from Trinity University. Believing that would have to move to New York or Chicago to work at a top advertising agency, he soon learned that there were premier advertising agencies in his own backyard. He began his career at Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, and worked with "the best of the best” in the industry. He remained with the agency for over a decade.
