Vegas PBS has grown from a single channel PBS service to a diversified public service media corporation that:-- broadcasts a full local PBS service plus six additional TV and cable channels and five wireless TV channels to schools; -- offers extensive community literacy and health outreach work shops; -- develops cross-network interconnection and emergency communication services for first responders using radio, wireless, digital datacasting and other technologies; -- partners with local organizations to offer online workforce development classes for professional certification, continuing education, job advancement, regulatory compliance, displaced and disabled worker retraining, economic development, and veterans programs; -- hosts six interactive websites with TV videos, supplemental program content, educational video clips, interactive games, telephone and whiteboard apps, and children's worksheets; and -- provides described and captioned media services for deaf, hard of hearing, blind and vision impaired students throughout Nevada.
