The primary role as a member of the Quantity Surveying team was working within the Central Design Group as part of a national team responsible for cell site design criteria, equipment and configuration approval, quality assurance and cost analysis. The programme included the rollout of 2G/3G network enhancement and optimisation and site decommissioning. Main duties involved cost approval of Build Costs and Final Accounts against a Schedule of Rates within targeted Service Level Agreements to ensure minimal impact on the build program - whilst not compromising value for money. Strict budgets and target savings were set on a site-by-site basis. The role required a good technical and civil understanding of cellular sites and structures, with a positive ability to interact with client and contractor in a professional manner. Other roles included reporting on average build costs and quarterly reviews for individual Contractors.
