Leadership and representation of multidisciplinary scientists on product support and development project deliverables

Supporting the growth and establishment of the Sugru product range through development, patents and obtaining significant grant investments. Research focused on re-formulation to enhance the product, improve user experience and upgrade of manufacturing facilities.

Supported scale up and launch of Sugru. Key role in strategy to grow beyond online distribution, into stores such as major high street chains such as B&Q, Halfords, Maplin and Robert Dyas in the UK, as well as Home Depot and Target in the US. Established manufacturing process, and rigorous testing for quality and validation of product claims.

Initially part time while completing my degree, I became employee no.1 and advanced formulation work from feasibility through to market readiness. This culminated in the successful pilot launch of Sugru in 2009, with the first 1000 packs selling out in 6 hours.
