Oil spill and contaminated land remediation specialist. Utilising a variety of remediation technologies in order to return amenity to impacted insured properties. Project managing a variety of projects simultaneously while working within a tight insurance driven framework. Responsibility for multiple project budgets totaling £0.6m per annum and achieving profit targets.Tasks include: Liaison with loss adjusting clients and insured parties, management of RAW staff, supervising contractors, H&S risk assessments, phased cost estimates (quotes), site walkovers and reporting (Phase 1) site investigation and reporting (Phase 2), remedial option assessments (ROAs), remedial works (structural and environmental), site supervision, environmental monitoring, validation and reporting and project invoicing.

Tom provided some early stage remote consulting services to one Edgilis’ Facilities Management clients in Guinea, Africa who wished to perform a feasibility study for pumping of groundwater for potable use at a mining facility near Conakry.

PADI Scuba Instructor at a high quality PADI Dive Centre. Duties included teaching, sales and customer service. Customer satisfaction was an essential part of the job.

Tom started his career as a Geo-Environmental Consultant for Hyder Consulting. Two years later he had worked on a large variety of large and small projects. Tom gained a reputation in his office for getting the job done from start to finish with minimal supervision. Later on he was starting to take on responsibilities including project management and training of temporary staff. He gained experience in areas such as contaminated land investigation and remediation, including oil spills. He planned and implemented geotechnical site investigations. Organisation of plant and contractors on sites all over the UK and sometimes overseas were part of his every day responsibility. He also gained some experience as an engineer working overseas.
