Anyone can re-draw and reorganize an IT department but can they do it effectively? It is easy to read strategic plans (assuming they exist!) but gaining an understanding of how they are to be achieved, who are the real stakeholders and gaining census on what IT projects must be undertaken is the tricky part. I’ve work in and with large complex multinational organizations to identify those strategic initiatives, put plans in place and executed on those plans.3) Assessing and re-aligning strategic projects. All IT organizations have multiple on-going projects, it just seems at least one or multiple strategic projects aren’t delivering efficiently. Often times this due to mis-aligned expectations, conflicting priorities or one or two ineffective key personal, I’ve had to “jump in and fix” multiple complex projects.
