Flight Director

• Manage the big picture; where are we now, where are we heading and what’s out on the horizon.• When the team gets in a hurry, ask “Does this have to happen right now?”. An activity may need to happen but if we get in a hurry, we’re more likely to make a mistake. Unless the satellite is about to fall out of the sky, we can stop, take a breath and plan the activity for the next pass.• Become familiar with team member’s strengths and weaknesses. Depend on their strengths and help develop their weaknesses. A few months later, the Blue Marble 2012 went viral on the internet, turning the administrator’s nightmare into a pleasant dream.
