Primarily focused on method development and validation using state of the art GC-MS and LC-MS systems to support a wide range of regulatory ecotoxicology, physical chemistry and environmental fate studies . I also study direct physical chemistry and environmental fate studies.

As part of the Metabolism group I project manage and study direct a wide range of environmental fate and plan metabolism studies for registration in the EU, US and Japan. We test chemicals from a wide range of applications, from pharmaceutical API's and plant protection products, to personal care products and formulations. In combination with our onsite radiosynthesis facilities we can produce and test 14C and tritium labelled compounds to support registration of new or existing compounds. We also have access to state of the art mass spectrometry equipment (including high mass accuracy Q-Exactive and Orbitrap systems) to allow the structure elucidation of unknown metabolites. Many of our studies are multi-site which allow us to utilise the varoius specialist scientific experience across the UK, particularly the in-life phase of plant metabolism studies, whilst maintaing GLP complance.
