Tom Hoban serves as a managing director for Coast/Sperry Van Ness in Washington State. Coast/Sperry Van Ness manages more than $1 billion in properties and has transacted $100 million in sales and leasing in 2007 alone.Since a modest start in 1987, brothers Tom and Shawn Hoban (Principal) have led Coast/Sperry Van Ness into one of the region’s largest real estate companies, ranking in the top 25 firms in Washington. To further serve clients, in 2004 the Hobans founded Coast Equity Partners, a firm that invests private equity into income properties throughout the Puget Sound Region. Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from the University of Notre Dame and spent three years in banking before he and Shawn starting the first of The Coast Group of Companies.Tom is a frequently quoted source of industry information, has been nationally published, writes a monthly commercial real estate column for a local business journal and other regional publications. Tom guest hosts a nationally-syndicated real estate show heard nation-wide and on Armed Forces Radio. He wrote and taught property management courses for The Washington Association of Realtors, is an adjunct professor at Everett Community College, is an expert witness in the real estate industry, and is a regular on speaking circuits.Tom and Shawn Hoban have shared many awards for their professional and community accomplishments, including the 2003 University of Notre Dame Alumni Club Co-Persons of the Year Award.
