About Tom Moriarty

Entrepreneur, EngineerCo-founder and first employee of Firecomms (http://www.firecomms.com), now MD. Firecomms brings innovative semiconductor light source technology to Optical Communication, usually over Plastic Optical Fibre, making it easy to use fiber networks in home or industry in place of bulky and interference-prone copper cables. Previously he set up and managed the Irish subsidiary of Moog Inc. (http://www.moog.com) from start-up to become Moog’s design and manufacture centre for electronic motor controllers for world markets, with a staff of 170, including a design group of 25 electronic and software engineers. Previous experience included manufacturing management in Cordage and Plastics and international consulting assignments.He has played a leading role in three international take-overs. He has served as Chairman of the Board of “Power Electronics Ireland”, and Chairman of the Cork Electronics Industry Association.
