Kennedy Journalism Award (China), four Overseas Press Club awards (Iraq/China/Philip Morris/Myanmar), two Investigative Reporters and Editors awards (GTMO/Myanmar), the Asia Society’s Osborn Elliott Prize for Excellence in Journalism on Asia (India), the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi award for Foreign Correspondence (China), and the South Asian Journalists Association’s Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding Reporting on South Asia (India/Pakistan).
