With over 40 years of corporate and clinical counseling experience, I am a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider who specializes in working with troubled and troubling employees. I help organizations and individuals address job-related challenges such as absenteeism, turnover, compromised relationships, motivation difficulties, rule/policy violations, aggression, bullying, intimidation, anxiety, and stress/fatigue concerns. As an author, speaker, professor, and board chair, I have co-authored multiple books on employee retention, engagement, and workforce intelligence, and delivered presentations and workshops to various corporate and association audiences. I also teach courses on organization development, action research and learning, and behavior consulting at Vanderbilt University School of Engineering. Additionally, I serve as the board chair and senior advisor to The Work Institute, LLC, a retention management company that I founded in 2001. My mission is to equip and empower organizations and employees with the skills, tools, and strategies to create and sustain a compassionate and desired workplace culture.
