In this role, my primary focus is the development of technologies and strategies to support Oracle Database customers. My goal is to accelerate adoption of Oracle productions by enabling customers, internal and external, to interact directly with our products and services through targeted workshops, demos and solution architectures. I look for opportunities to aggregate and curate content from across Oracle by working directly with product management, sales, solution engineering, user assistance, and partners.

Provide support for strategic learning initiatives for Database User Assistance.Initiatives include:* Lead the development, documentation and rollout of a Markdown to HTML engine that provides a flexible and consistent approach to creating workshops and hands on labs* Implementation and management of learning modules* Develop definitions, samples and training for Article transition plan

Partnering with product teams and cross-functional leaders on global learning initiatives to help new and current Oracle customers learn how to use Oracle Cloud products, through real world self-paced training, tutorials, video and guided help embedded in the product experience.Recent successes include:* Development of Oracle Solutions (docs.oracle.com/en/solution), documenting proven strategies for applying Oracle’s products to solve business problems.* Development of the "OBELabs Challenge" (www.oracle.com/goto/OBELabs-Open), a set of self-paced labs designed to help customers learn about Oracle Cloud.* On-going implementation of MOOCs at Oracle.

Curriculum Developer for a broad set of Oracle Products, including Java technology and Oracle Cloud.Responsible for the development and support of instructor-led and self-paced training for Oracle's Java ME, SE and EE curriculum and certification, and Oracle Cloud products, including Java Cloud Service, Sales Cloud and others. Sample revenue generating courses include: Java SE 8, Java EE 7, Java ME Embedded and many other previous Java technology versions.Also designed, developed and produced a variety of self-paced learning offerings designed to drive adoption and create mind share, including Oracle's first ever Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Java ME Embedded 8. The 5-week course attracted 2800 students from 83 countries. The course allowed students who purchased hardware components to develop their own working embedded prototype to measure temperature, pressure, GPS location and input from switch devices. In addition to teaching Java ME Embedded to a broad array of Java programmers, the product team was able to leverage the student population to gather usability insights that they had never had before.

Responsible for the integration and management of the Sun Learning Services Java and Middleware curriculum into Oracle University, and the on-going business development of the overall Oracle Fusion Middleware portfolio. Developed business reports on the status and health of the overall Fusion Middleware portfolio. Mapped sales of Oracle licenses to training to provide accurate data to sales and curriculum product management on attach rate and training sales to product sales lag.

Learning Business Development Manager responsible for determining the market for customer training products, designing the mix of training product types for world-wide markets, including localization needs, delivery modalities and pricing for Sun's Java, middleware and MySQL products. Responsible for the development and maintenance of certification products.

Leadership role in the implementation of a new strategy for Sun Learning Services, the addition of role-based learning. In this model, learners choose from one of four intents: increase their skills in their role, validate their skills through certification, implement a solution, or learn about a specific product or product feature.

Performed front-end analysis, instructional design, technical course development, and course delivery. Developed Sun Education's Java curriculum from the ground up, resulting in $12M of revenue in the first two years. Course titles included: Java Programming, Java Programming Workshop (JDBC), Distributed Computing with Java, Developing CORBA Applications with Java, and JavaBeans Component Development. Awarded Society for Technical Communications (STC) award for self-paced Solaris System Administration multimedia products.

Developed and supported interactive multimedia tutorial and performance support applications. Designed and developed automated test software.

Designed, developed and integrated database and application software package to control a Megamation multi-head robotic cell. System automated the placement of odd-form components.

Developed several products including automated laser hybrid-sealing system. Developed user interface, multitasking operating system, and drivers for communications.

Participated in a software team developing an application for the manipulation of an electron-beam lithography system.
