Tommi Ora Work Experience Details
  • Boffice
    Founder | Ceo
    Boffice Mar 2020 - Present
    Helsinki, Southern Finland, Finland
Boffice provides a fresh and anticipated way of renting small office spaces in downtown Helsinki and Espoo. Our purpose is to offer a trimmed and low-cost alternative to challenge those big commercial office space corporations who include all kinds of add-ons into their monthly office fees. We think that all extras (weekly yoga lessons, shared super deluxe coffee machines, games and activities) are a nice plus but do these things really help small companies to make better business? The money that a small company can save when they choose their own basic office from Boffice can be over 10,000 euros/year compared to the office rental market prices in downtown Helsinki. In our mindset, this saved money can be kept in our customers' bank accounts or they can buy their very own group activities, or gadgets, and still keep some of the saved money in their pockets. Boffice was founded during the lockdown of the international COVID-19 pandemic. We want to help entrepreneurs and small companies to minimize their monthly costs and to optimize their business orientation.Boffice - No added BS. Just office. Find out more: www.boffice.fi

  • Hoas
    Director, Innovations & Brand
    Hoas Jan 2017 - Oct 2018
    Helsinki Area, Finland
Good things just keep coming when fortune favors the bold! This is what was going on my desk:My Innovation Unit took care that Hoas stayed on top in the real estate service business. Our revolutionary flatmate-finder "Hoas Matchie" hit the jackpot when it was launched October 2016: The interest for the shared apartments has multiplied among the applicants and that has positive impacts to the occupancy rates. There was also a new groundbreaking project called ”the Innovation House” on my desk and it was funded by Tekes/Business Finland – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation. It will combine housing, startups, universities and business life but I will keep the details under the radar. The bold and unprejudiced developmental mindset was connected to the new strategy of Hoas: We wanted to be the forerunners of our business field. Achieving stronger brand and status for Hoas was in the centre of my work. Hoas – the Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region rents out 9,400 apartments to 18,500 tenants. Over 10,000 new tenancy agreements are made every year. There are 65 employees and six of us Executive Team members working at Hoas. The turnover rate in 2016 was 68.4 M €. • Hoas
Head Of Development, Brand & Marketing
    Hoas May 2016 - Dec 2016
    Helsinki, Finland
As a result of meritorious work as a Development Manager, I got promoted to Head of Development and I joined to the Hoas Executive Team as a full-time member. Hoas Executive Team has now six members. My key responsibilities focus on Brand and Marketing Development. These tasks are such as creating a Brand Strategy, finding Marketing Innovations and participating into the Innovation Strategy creation process. This post played a key role in our new mindset as we began to develop various strategically important new operations that aimed for better customer experience, better brand image and added value for our stakeholders. These tasks were such as to create a brand strategy and discover service innovations. I was also responsible for the visual image & brand renovation of Hoas and I ensured that the result was trendy and youthful. In addition, we made our sauna and laundry turns free of charge and launched an agile booking system for that. We also began to hand over housewarming gifts for every new tenant. As the results, the customer satisfaction rates have climbed.
  • Hoas
    Development Manager, Brand & Services
    Hoas Sep 2015 - Apr 2016
    Helsinki
After my fixed-term substitute role at Hoas I was asked to carry on as a Development Manager. We had just wrapped up a completely new strategy for Hoas after one year and numerous amount of planning and researching. The new Hoas focuses on getting things done better and differently than usually in the real estate and renting field. My post played a key role when we developed various strategically important new operations that aimed for better brand image, better customer service and better value-added services for our customers.
  • Hoas
Head Of Customer Relations & Communications
    Hoas Jan 2014 - Aug 2015
    Helsinki
It was late 2013 when I was directly contacted if I would be interested to become a substitute for the Head of Customer Relations & Communications during a maternity leave. I worked as the Head of the Housing Services Department which is the largest department at Hoas with its 20+ employees accounting for the company’s entire turnover. In addition, I carried a leading role in the cross-operational Hoas Service Center covering over 40 professionals. Monitoring and improving e.g. the occupancy, tenant churn and customer satisfaction rates were in the centre of the work. I also took care of the stakeholder and public relations. Together with the rest of the Executive Team I accounted to the Hoas Board about the operative processes and our new strategy development. In our strategy development process my key responsibilities included building a new customer relationship strategy and communications strategy. Later I was also dealing with Social Media development and Branding.

  • Association Of Business School Graduates In The Helsinki Region / Helsingin Ekonomit Heko Ry
Master'S Thesis Worker - Marketing Research
Association Of Business School Graduates In The Helsinki Region / Helsingin Ekonomit Heko Ry May 2013 - Dec 2013
    Helsinki
One of HEKO's main focus areas was to increase their awareness among business school graduates in the Helsinki metropolitan area. I knew this through my positions of trust and I suggested to them that I could execute a marketing research as my Master's Thesis. My research focused on how to persuade a person to join into a community and remain a member of a community. When companies know these factors, they are able to build better targeted marketing campaigns and marketing strategies. The research was completed in 2013 and it was used as a basis for HEKO's strategic membership marketing.
  • The Finnish Association Of Business School Graduates / Suomen Ekonomiliitto Sefe Ry

    Helsinki
I was responsible for creating SEFE's marketing and communications strategy for the Aalto University School of Business campus. KY is SEFE's largest student association with its 3200 members in Aalto University. KY's and university's key persons were the most important stakeholders with whom I negotiated marketing and communications contracts and organized event marketing. My work included lots of public speaking and sales pitches. SEFE monitored the results, but my work was very independent, i.e. I made all decisions how to utilize SEFE’s marketing budget allocated for the Aalto coverage. Every now and then I still get good feedback from my presentation skills during this post. This job helped my way to the SEFE Vice Chairman post. Here is an article with my short interview in this role: http://yle.fi/uutiset/nokia_loses_most_favoured_employer_status/1105579

My team made a contract with the CatchBox Company to form a sales unit for them. The CatchBox Company had recently won a startup business plan competition. We focused on the sales of CatchBox microphones, which are cube-shaped, soft microphones and can be thrown all around conference audiences to make it easy and fun to participate into a conversation. I managed to get our biggest B2B deal which resulted us winning the whole competition.

The research was executed to find ways to increase students' interest for the accounting professions. We also wanted to know the students' opinions about the industry attractiveness and labor market situation. The survey results were used as a starting point for the student focused sectoral data and distribution channel information, selecting and allocating them correctly.

The tournament was held 37th time in the history and it was the largest so far. The practicalities gathered good feedback from the participants and media.
