About Tom Hudson
Work Experience: 25+ years LBE, Theme Park, Ride & Experience Entertainment Designer, Business Development/Project Management & Computer Games Art Director.Industry Verticals: LBE, Theme Parks, Entertainments, Computer Games, Marketing & Advertising.Summary: From ideas to successful projects, from concept creation to finished design, from broad scope to final details, as part of the art creation, business development, sales, and project management process I have successfully taken many theme park projects and computer games to conclusion for numerous clients. I have developed and created LBE experience and installation designs, narratives, portfolios, briefs, plans, bids, marketing presentations, and finished project books for real world and digital entertainment products. The process always begins by creating/writing the concept, narrative, and/or white paper, to present the product. This is converted to art for presentation and then into product designs and technical briefs. I am a product evangelist and create, design, present, and sell for clients and design studios. I developed the sales pitch, presentation, and project book that sold the Show Action Equipment proposal to Disney for Star Wars, Smuggler’s Run. I designed the Egyptian Boats for the Luxor Hotel, Buffalo Bill’s Roller Coaster at Primm near Las Vegas, as well as the classic coasters for Cedar Point and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I have produced and art directed numerous well-known computer games such as Circus Maximus, Tiger Woods, and Need for Speed. I usually work under NDA bound contracts that prevent me from advertising within the life of a product under development. I have designed 7 successful amusement park ride experience concepts, their lead vehicles, and trains, with 4 future installations under production, as well as published 14 multi-platform computer game titles, and 5 handheld computer games. In the realm of manufacturing production, I am experienced in reading engineering data, drawings, schematics, and production parts lists, creating isometric and perspective illustrations, 3D models, and their associated annotations, captions, legends, and technical copy. This includes interpreting and creating associated materials, lists and schedules for connective or subsidiary work for production, marketing, engineering, design, and sales. NDAs restrict me from showing certain creative material. Portfolio available on request.
