As President of NPCpp I was involved in the development and the first stage of the implementation of the strategic plan to set up a secretariat to run the National Parents Council post-primary on a day to day basis. I started my involvement in the NPCpp training programme which is of great benefit to parents all around the country and I work with the three management bodies of second level schools (ACCS, JMB and the IVEA). The IVEA is now known as the ETB. I also work with the trust bodies (Le Cheile, CEIST and the Edmund Rise Schools Trust). I was also involved in the update of the website and on many committees within the Department of Education and Skills

As president of PACCS I organises regional meetings, information and training for parents around the country, and provided individual talks in any community or comprehensive school. I worked on the development of our new website to help parent’s access information very easily www.paccs.ie I meet with our partners in education to discuss motions passed at our conference which was held every year. In particular PACCS meets with ACCS, State Examination Commission, ASTI, TUI, NAPD, DES, Mr Ruairi Quinn TD , Mr Paul Gogarty TD , and Mr Brian Hayes TD. I was one of our four members sitting on the National Parents Council post primary who work on sub-committees to deliver the best education system we could for all students in second level education.
