Previously a lifeguard, but having always had an interest in tech and wanting something that really challenged me and gave me real problems to solve, I took the dive into the industry through the amazing School of Code. I was introduced to the bootcamp by my brother and, with everything going on in the world, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I don’t think I’ve ever been more right in my life. It’s been nothing short of an experience of a lifetime and it has been a challenging journey, but that’s what I came for. Remote Git workflow, Agile, REST, pair programming, SQL, AWS, the full JS stack – the sheer volume of skills and experience that I’ve gained in just the 16 weeks of the bootcamp is nothing short of phenomenal and the best part? It’s only just scratching the surface. As someone who thoroughly enjoys learning new things, the tech industry is an absolute gold mine and just the thought of what’s to come and what is possible makes me really excited. Working full-stack really appeals to me. Being able to understand and work across the entire stack means that there’s always something different to be done, always something to work on, always lots to be learnt and, over the course of our final project, it was something that I very much enjoyed. I was very shocked to find that I actually.... liked CSS? I know, I hardly believe it myself.
