I have graduated with a Distinction after studying the MSc Audio Production course in the University of Salford. Here I refined my audio production techniques and learnt new techniques in audio post-production. I also built a virtual synthesiser and effects unit within Reaktor, learnt how to treat a room's acoustics to make it a viable listening space (with regards to reverb time over octave bands 125Hz - 4kHz, modal frequencies and first order early reflections) and investigated the psycho-acoustic properties of human hearing and how various spatial audio systems correspond with our auditory system. My masters dissertation required me to measure a selection of individual Head Related Impulse Response's (HRIR's), create all of the sound design for a short film, create different versions of the sound design using the measured HRIRs and to then conduct subjective listening tests to investigate whether the subject's individual HRIR mixes were preferred when compared to all other non-individual HRIR mixes. My dissertation can be found on my blog/website. I have had a keen interest in music and audio for many years. I am a drummer and have been drumming in numerous bands for around ten years which has seen me play and record in locations across England and Wales. I have also been producing music for over eight years and have worked with numerous artists as well as producing my own music and sound design pieces. I am comfortable working with analogue and digital equipment and can mix within a DAW or on a desk with outboard equipment. Currently I am working on a freelance basis in a professional recording studio named 'Hope Mill Recording Studios'.
