Banknorth Group (now TD Bank) hired Tom, after a nationwide search, to capitalize on the rapidly growing company's recent structure change: centralizing all marketing functions (which previously had been decentralized at individual bank headquarters in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont) to the holding-company's corporate level. Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive brand-identity change and for transforming Banknorth's traditional community-banking into the high-performance sales culture typical of what the industry terms "super-community banks."

At Boston-based New England radio group, responsible for radio stations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont, including sales, p&l, legal, human resources, management development and training. Directly managed KQS's Vermont broadcast operation.

Vice President and General Manager of KCBS-FM Radio in San Francisco, one of seven CBS-owned radio stations in the United States. After successful sales and management positions with CBS in New York and Chicago, chosen to spearhead a turnaround at the company's least successful broadcast property. Responsible for coordinating, with CBS corporate management and FCC attorneys, a complex three-way frequency exhange that boosted the signal strength and audience potential of KCBS-FM.
