I help those living with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) to understand their strengths so they can become active and learn to explore the world. Knowing that EVERY CHD is different is essential in guiding those to do what they can do, what they THINK they can do, and learn what they're capable of!I was born a blue baby in 1959 and diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) shortly after birth. I underwent a Blalock-Taussig-Thomas shunt procedure in 1963 followed by a full repair of TOF in 1966. I grew up as an active child when possible and enjoyed riding my bike and camping with Boy Scouts. I graduated from college with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1982 and subsequently a M.S. in Chemistry in 1987.My son was born and diagnosed with Corrected L-transposition of the Great Arteries, now known as Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA); Open Heart Surgery was completed in 1994 and he is a successful Aerospace Engineer for a leading rocket company. My accomplishments in life also include being an experienced analytical chemist, becoming an entrepreneur running my own business for 12 years and volunteering as a Boy Scout leader.I became a triathlete at the youthful age of 52, subsequently completing many Sprint triathlons, Olympic triathlons, several half marathons and TWO Half Ironman triathlons in the last 12 years.
