About Daniel Tompkins

I am a Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft where I focus on building, evaluating, and deploying models for audio event detection and speech recognition. Prior to working at Microsoft, I taught college music courses for six years while studying for my PhD and Masters degrees. I remain active in academic conferences, presenting and publishing peer-reviewed research and advising college music students who want to consider jobs in technology.
