The team's main responsibility is to give support to customers with a dedicated environment, which mainly consists of customers having a private cloud, public cloud servers and/or VPS. This also means keeping an eye on the monitor and performance monitor and perform necessary troubleshooting in case of issues. Besides these we also monitor the network and storage to detect anomalies, check daily backups, perform maintenances and migrations, patching, ... At the end of 2013 our first NOC engineer started working nights and weekends to give an added value to our 24/7 support. Show less

Having a linux system engineering background I was responsible for our internal and external hosting environments and network. Ranging from setup, over system administration, to operational support.Some achievements are development of the ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon & Automotive product catalogues, websites & intranets, analysis/development/support of the custom built CMS called Selfware, analysis and development of a web based drawing package for Ursus (a company that sells aluminium profiles), setting up and maintaining a hosting environment running several Solaris and Debian servers virtualized on a Xen platform.
